Hi, I’m Karen!
I’m the person behind What to Write in a Card, and I created this site for a very simple reason: sometimes finding the right words is hard.
We’ve all been there. You buy a birthday card, thank-you card, sympathy card, or wedding card, pick up a pen, and suddenly have no idea what to write.
Maybe you don’t want to simply sign your name. Maybe the message already printed inside the card doesn’t quite say what you want to say. Or maybe you know exactly how you feel, but you’re having trouble putting those feelings into words.
That’s where What to Write in a Card comes in.
Why I Created What to Write in a Card
I created What to Write in a Card to be a practical, easy-to-use resource for anyone who needs a little help finding the right words.
The site includes hundreds of message ideas for birthdays, thank-you cards, encouragement, sympathy, weddings, anniversaries, retirement, new babies, graduations, and many other occasions.
You can browse the message collections when you want plenty of ideas to choose from, or use the free Greeting Card Message Generator when you just need a little inspiration.
My goal isn’t to tell you exactly what to write. It’s to help you get started.
The best card messages are personal. I encourage you to use the ideas on this site as inspiration and then add a name, shared memory, personal detail, or a few words of your own to make the message meaningful to the person receiving it.
A Little About Me
I’ve always enjoyed creative projects, writing, designing, and finding practical ways to make everyday things a little more meaningful.
Over the years, I’ve created websites, designed T-shirts and greeting cards, written articles, and worked on more creative projects than I can probably count.
Now that I’m retired, I have more time to work on the projects I enjoy—and What to Write in a Card is one of them.
I especially like creating resources that are useful. If someone visits this site because they’re staring at a blank card and leaves a few minutes later knowing exactly what they want to say, then the site has done its job.
How the Message Ideas Are Created
The message collections on What to Write in a Card are created and organized to help you quickly find ideas that fit the occasion, relationship, and tone you’re looking for.
I review, edit, organize, and update the content on the site to make the message collections more useful and easier to browse.
Some content may be created with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools. When AI tools are used, I review and edit the content before publishing it. My goal is to provide useful, original resources—not simply publish large amounts of automatically generated content.
More Than Just Message Ideas
What to Write in a Card is part of a small group of websites I’ve created around creativity, encouragement, faith, and meaningful ways to connect with other people.
If you’re looking for Christian T-shirts, faith-inspired designs, and articles, you can visit BeyondTshirts.net.
If you enjoy sending real greeting cards, you can browse simple, meaningful cards at Quiet Fold Studio.
